Kenya: Mahakama yafuta matokeo ya uchaguzi wa Rais, kurudiwa upya ndani ya siku sitini (60)

Hivi punde,Mahakama ya Juu ya Kenya imeridhika na hoja za Umoja wa Vyama vya Upinzani (NASA) kuwa uchaguzi haukufuata Katiba na sheria na ulikuwa na kasoro. Ni uamuzi wa Majaji wengi.

The Supreme Court has quashed President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election, ordering for a fresh presidential election in 60 days.

The court stated that IEBC did not conduct free and fair elections but cleared Kenyatta of any malpractice.

They also stated that the irregularities experienced affected the final outcome of the election.

Out of the 7 judges, 2 (Justice Jackton Ojwang' and Njoki Ndung'u) gave dissenting views saying the election was free and fair.

Chief Justice David Maraga, however, stated that what they read was a 'determination of the court and not a ruling'.

Maraga stated that the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta is null and void and he was not validly elected.

He further ordered a fresh election in 60 days according to the law.
