Kibo mining granted ESIA for 300MW Mbeya coal project by Tanzania Government.

Kibo Mining the listed Company on the AIM market in London and the AltX in Johannesburg. The Company focused on exploration and development of mineral projects in Tanzania.  Kibo controls a large mineral right portfolio range from mineral Energy to Precious metals.

On, 27 October 2017 Kibo received from Tanzanian Government a Certificate of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA). Certificate is for both the Mbeya Coal Project and to the Mbeya Power Generation Project.

The ESIAs are an integral element of the Mbeya Coal to Power Project (MCPP) approval process and a further milestone in the development of critical Energy Project in Tanzania.
Kibo Mining Company Coal Project located in South West Tanzania and expected to be in production in next 36 months.

Coal produced at the mine will be used by 300MW generating Power Plant at the mine mouth. Power station is aiming to satisfy the acute need for Power in the country.

Kibo Mining is the Coal producer, which partners with SEPCO III the Coal Power producer. SEPCO is the large Chinese construction and engineering Company that designs, builds and operates Power plants.

Granting of the ESIA comes as a latest milestone in the MCPP’s development cycle. The Company has already completed a, Definitive Power Feasibility Study, a Definitive Mining Feasibility Study, an Independent Integrated Financial Model, and an Integrated Bankable Feasibility Study.

Kibo Mining Plc CEO Mr Louis Coetzee said "This is terrific news for Kibo and brings us another step closer to construction".

Mr Coetzee continued "We have had several very productive meetings with the new established Ministry of Energy over the past two weeks which confirmed our view that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is progressing well and that it will be finalised shortly”.
